I got it working.
The main problem was a windows "Program Files" path problem....
in nsrnmo.bat, the path to C:\Program Files\nsr\bin\nsrnmostart was getting
broken up into two arguments:
(1760) argv[ 0] = c:\"Program
(1760) argv[ 1] = Files\nsr\bin\nsrnmostart -s
wgnmessage01.chapmantripp.co.nz........
So I took out the C:\Program Files\nsr\bin..... and suddenly
started getting output in nwadmin.
Also, I modified the paths in nsrnmo.bat, for the message and
log file destinations.
Finally I remmed out some pre/post processing commands ( which I had put in
nsrnmo.bat ) and
suddenly it was working.

Hi,
Im not familar with rman backups without catalog
(personaly I dont like them), but I think when you
run via GUI, your nocatalog Information is missing
as you give it on commandline.
Possibly enabling debugging in nsrmo.bat would
give more hints.
