John,

You should go to 6.1.3. There was substantial testing of
DDS during development of 6.1.3. While it is not perfect
it is by far the best release we have for DDS environments.

The 6.2 release was a Windows only release for NDMP. It
was a stop gap release that will likely not be kept around
very long now that 7.0 is out.

Thanks,

Carston

We are running 6.1.1 NetWorker Server currently on Solaris and Win2k.
What's the better way to go - upgrade to 6.1.3 or directly to 6.2 ?
We are using DDS in a big way and seem to have problems pretty regularly.
Which of these new versions 6.1.3 or 6.2 will help with those problems best.

thanks - John

Hopefully rescanning the SSID into the client indexes and media db might
get this straightened out?

First, use "mminfo -aV -q 'ssid=<SSID>'" to get volume, file and record
numbers (to speed up scanner operation).

Then use "nsrjb -ln -V <volume>" to load required tape into a drive without
mounting it. Note which drive it's loaded into.

Then the scanner command to rebuild the index:
scanner -f <filenum> -r <recordnum> -i -S <SSID> <tapedevice>

Question: was the client definition for pebble deleted and re-created
anytime since these savesets were made? It's possible you've got a
mismatch between client-id's in the media database. From the mminfo
command above you should be able to see the internal client-id string.
Compare this with what is displayed in the client definition.
