possibly thats not supported (by Oracle) and I think it will
not work but i may be wrong here.(I have no expierience on
that OS's).

Anyway, you could check the backup at rman level with
validate backupset ... on the original OS to detect physical corruptions.


(are you using the same Version and Patchlevel of Oracle ?)
