You can try doing an fuser on the device and
and then killing the nsrmmd proc that is using
that device.
i.e.
backer2 3# fuser /dev/rmt/1cbn
/dev/rmt/1cbn: 14928o
backer2 4# ps -fp 14928
UID PID PPID C STIME TTY TIME CMD
root 14928 9692 14 Feb 24 ? 2716:06 /usr/sbin/nsrmmd -n 9
backer2 5# kill 14928
