Wait! Are You doing disaster recovery or directed recovery?
If You are doing directed recovery, You should not even think
to recover SYSTEM save sets (make sense, just think what is
inside). Besides, there is Q article which also explains
this (don't know number top of my head).
Disaster recovery should always happen on the machine which
has been backed up (due to some HW dependencies by software
in registry and some other sneaky things by OS).
