Sounds good, but three questions:

1. Are you saying that in the case of the L80, the software is already
built-in? I mean, if all I have to do is assign an IP address to the
library via the front panel and plug it into the network via a standard
network cable then I guess it must have everything already inside its
little brain, correct?

2. What kinds of read-only things can we see? For example, can I see all
the slots and which are occupied? Will the tapes having barcodes actual
show up with their barcodes?

3. Will it be necessary to add the ip address to our DNS server, or is
this advised for any reason?

Too bad we can't manipulate anything, though. I assume, even for a cost,
that we cannot purchase any software from Storagetek to do this?
