Being able to clone it doesn't mean your indices are OK. Check that you can
actually browse the save set's contents, using
nwrecover/recover/winworkr/nsrinfo etc (as Carston pointed out). Also if
the save set IS still browsable, then the status should show as browsable,
otherwise it will show as recoverable.

You may have got away with it if nsrim has not run between marking it
recyclable and marking it notrecyclable again.

Yes you should have a good backup. The index has been written to disk, just
not saved to tape. You may just want to re-run the index backup. You can do
this quite some time later if need be, as long as the index for that backup
still exists.
