When you did the conversion, did you or your FSE also load new library
firmware for the robot itself?

I ask because we upgraded our STK 9710 from DLT7000 to SuperDLT1, and
one of our two STK FSEs loaded new code to support the SDLT drives,
and at the time he mentioned that he thought (but wasn't certain) that
we might need to get new cleaning barcodes.

The 9710 operations panel and LCD display don't have any new or different
options, but automatic cleaning quit working for us when we did the
upgrade. I've been in contact with our primary FSE to see if my suspicion
is correct: I believe the firmware update on the library itself
essentially switches it so that the library knows it has SuperDLT drives,
and even though it displays all the same "DLT" messages in the
configuration screens on the front panel, once you've loaded the new code
you also need to get new cleaning barcodes, because the library *does*
know that it has SuperDLT drives now.

That hasn't been confirmed yet, but seems to fit what we're seeing and
also matches what our FSEs had heard. Hopefully they'll be able to get
confirmation to us soon, but I would be interested in hearing from
anyone else that has done the upgrade from DLT7000 or DLT8000 to SuperDLT
in a 9710, to see if they're seeing the same thing.

Thanks!
