My setup is much the same as Christian's and we continue to have no luck
backing up large files on two of our Linux clients. Here's what our setup
looks like:

Server: Solaris 8, Solstice Backup 6.1.3 Build 428
Client: RedHat 7.3, kernel 2.4.18-18.7.xsmp, Solstice Backup 6.1.1

We've also tried the latest linux client from Legato (6.1.3) but this
doesn't fix the problem, it makes it worse! The savegroup completion
message no longer reports the problem, but the files still do not appear in
the index, thus giving one a false sense of security. I assume those who
report the problem has been fixed have verified that they do indeed have
valid backups and not just the absence of error messages!

I have an incident open with Sun but I'm not hopeful that they can offer
any resolution. I was told there is a new version in the works so maybe
this problem will be appropriately address.
