Hey Rob,

Environment:
E450 Solaris 2.6
Solstice Backup 6.1.2
1 ATL P3000 with 8 DLT7000
1 ATL P4000 with 8 DLT7000
1 StorageTek 9310 Silo with 10 9940B drives

# machines: 110 and growing fast
% complete error free: >95% several sub-categories here
        - Most failures are misconfigs or undocumented system changes
that aren't the fault of Networker
        - Some due to network problems... I've actually found that
networker highlights existing network problems(ie duplex
mismatch.. port problems) so we can fix them before users
complain.
        - Most networker problems IMHO seem to be related to media
management
        - Just random failures only seem to happen on NT
systems(absolutely no exaggeration), so my guess is that they are
caused by general NT suckage rather than a Networker problem
# hours spent: normally around 2-3, but currently we're going
through some big changes so pretty much all day
# people: Just me for backups and about 5-6 other people also do
restores

Joel

Hi list,

I was wondering if I could talk anyone in to giving me a few minutes to
answer these questions. If you are not confortable on any of the
questions, of course do not answer them. An answer to any one of them
would be a great help to me.

How many machines do you back up?
On average what % of them complete error free?
How much time a day do you spend working with backups/clients/etc?
How many people work on backups/recovers?

Thanks,

Rob
