Tommy,

You don't say why you have 2 NICs on the same subnet. Usually when we have
more than one NIC on the same subnet, it is to allow us to "Team" the NICs.
Teamed NICs appear as one virtual NIC with one IP address on the network. If
your NICs are Intel based, check out the Intel website for more info on how
to set it up.

Tommy,

We've done this before. On the client create a static route from the second
interface to the backup server.

For example: route add -p 192.168.1.200 MASK 255.255.255.255 192.168.1.1 IF
0x100002

Make sure the backup server has both interfaces defined in it's hosts file.
Also make sure the client
setup has the second interfaces' name in the alias field.

Hey,

I tried to backup a windows client with two network interface cards, - but I
get error message "SYSTEM error: Access violation - unknown host:
10.168.16.58". The server I have registered in networker is 10.168.16.57.

Is it posible to do a backup on a prefered NIC and solve the problem this
way, or is there another way to work around this problem. I have tried to
put sgwintid in the hosts file to force a return of IP 10.168.16.57, instead
of using DNS (which returns 10.168.16.58 on sgwintid), - but it didn't solve
the problem ?

Does anyone know how to enable a more detailed level of logging on failed
savset ?

If its any help, I am running a 6.0A version, a siemens Networker version.

/Tommy
