Brian, yes, "msexch:MB" in the saveset box is the idea, however, I've never
been able to get that part to work. By doing "MSEXCH:IS
MSEXCH:DS" in the saveset you get everything you need to restore an exchange
server that crashes, however, if you want to restore an individual mailbox,
you do need to have backed up the mailboxes individually using msexch:mb
What some people do is back up the mailboxes manually over the weekend,
using the client on their exchange server and selecting all of the
mailboxes. I think I've even seen that work over night (if its started
manually on the exchange client, not automatically as part of a group on the
networker admin server.)
Hope this is helpful.
Chad

Thanks for the info! I just made the change!

On another note, to backup individual mailboxes, I'd add the saveset
"MSEXCH:MB" to the client configuration, correct?

Are there any caveats about backing up the individual boxes? I've
thought that I've read something that says this takes an extraordinary
amount of time/CPU to do. Our Exchange cluster has about 1000 mailboxes
currently.

Thank you!

This is a hostname/security "feature" of Networker. You have a client
named "sornex" that responds to the Networker server request on that
hostname, but reports back as being "sornex1.mmc-sil.com" Since those
names are different, Networker denies the save.

Put "sornex1.mmc-sil.com" in the Aliases field for the sornex entry, and
this should fix it. On Windows clients, we noticed the NetBIOS name for
the machine factors in as well in the same way (ie: if the hostname
isn't the same as the networker name isn't the same as the netbios name
for a given machine, you need to list all its monikers in the Aliases
field.

I'm really hoping v7 has hostkey based authentication instead of
hostname, but I haven't gotten a confirmation of that.
