Hi Jose,

The error I anm getting is:
\\.\Tape1 reading: read open error: unknown error 21 (0x15)

I too have opened a call with Legato and I have also contacted Storagetek who
installed the drive.

I will keep you posted.

This is interesting, I'm doing the same thing and also having some trouble.
What kind of error messages are you getting? I'm testing some DR procedures
recovering some bootstrap tapes of one of our other locations to one of our
test servers. Mmrecov will run ok and recover all the res files but when
restoring the media database I'll get "Networker media: (warning)
/dev/rmt/0cbn reading: Not enough space".

Mrecov will say it completed as usual but the media database doesn't seem to
be complete. Nsrck -L7 will fail complaining it can't find the volume
needed.

I've just opened a call with Legato to see what they have to say. I've
double-checked st.conf and can actually recover from DLT7000 media just
fine.

Networker 6.1.2
Solaris 7, with all recommended patches

Sun 280

Hello folks,

I am having a heck of a time reading DLT8000 on SDLT320 drives that we just
installed. I suspect a hardware problem but I am still troubleshooting. Can
this be done? I have to move the DLT8000 drives to a library at another site
and setup a storage so I really need backward compatability for restoring
from DLT8000 drives.

Runing: Legato Networker 6.1.2 on Win2K SP2
Storagetek L40
2 Quantum DLT8000 drives and
2 Quantum SDLT320 drives.

Thanks,
