Re: [Networker] Trouble reading DLT8000 on SDLT320 drive

Davina:
Strangely enough all the drives (DLT8000 and SDLT320) are set to a 64KB block
size in Networker. I also thought the problem was block size. Is it possible
that the block size is not being set by Networker but rather by the hardware
itself?
Thanks

this be done? I have to move the DLT8000 drives to a library at another site
and setup a storage so I really need backward compatability for restoring
from DLT8000 drives.

Probably a block size issue. SDLT, SDLT320, and DLT7000 use a 128KB block
size in NetWorker, whereas DLT8000 uses 96KB. You should be able to get
round it by setting the appropriate environment variables at the right
times, but it could be a bit messy.
