One slight correction to all these suggestions. Legato does in fact offer
bare metal restore for Solaris, NT and 2000.  The are called NRM
(NetWorker Recovery Manager) for Windows or Unix (more Unix flavors other
than Solaris are supposed to be coming soon).

The Solaris product currently uses boot net in conjunction with a boot
server to boot in case of disaster. It gathers pertinent partition and fs
info prior to said disaster and works in conjunction with NetWorker to
provide bare metal capabilities.
