Hi Gary,

Another option (and this mainly depends on the size of your site and how often
systems are built) is to implement Solaris jumpstart.  It provides for a
standard configuration and systems are booted via the network.  When the
jumpstart is complete, restore all the data from the last fulls/incrs.

Of course, this doesn't do you much good if all your Solaris systems are
configured/setup substantially differently.

Along the lines of Sean's idea below, you could store 'dd' images of the s2
partition of the critical disks on a remote system.  If/when the system crashes,
boot single user mode via the CD, manually configure the network, NFS mount the
directory of dd images and 'dd' back.  This'll put the original disk partition
sizes back in place.

BTW, you do mirror your OS's disks, don't you?
