your best option (other than getting a bare metal restore product...
which legato didn't offer last time i checked) is to do ufsdumps of your
root and /usr and /var over the network to some disk somewhere. then, if
you lose the root disk you can just boot off cd or jumpstart a system and
restore the disk that way. at least, that's always been my plan. i've
been lucky enough not to lose a root disk yet.

Does any have any experience in doing a OS level backup with SUN? I am
running networker 6.1.1 to backup the data on the SUN server but in the
event of a disaster how can I restore the OS? Does legato have some kind
of bare metal restore? Or is there a command like AIX's mksysb in the SUN
world? Any ideas will be helpfull. Thanks.
