You didn't say what version of Networker.

What level are these savesets?  There may be other backups that
depend on them.  For example if they are full backups and there exist
incremental backups (on other tapes) that haven't expired (and depend on
these full backups) then these savesets will not expire.

At least that's what I've been seeing.. The expire date of the savesets
doesn't really tell one when the volume will expire... you can try the
volretent attribute (mminfo -r volume,volretent VOLNAME)  but that hasn't
always been accurate for me either (Networker 6.1.2).
