[Networker] backup of server failed
2003-01-08 12:34:18
Networker 6.1.1 Power Edition, on a Compaq DS-20 running Tru64 4.0F (Unix)
In yesterday's notification, we saw the following:
--- Unsuccessful Save Sets ---
* bootz:/usr 5 retries attempted
--- Successful Save Sets ---
Successful Save Sets written to verified media noted with "V" in first column.
* bootz:/ 1 retry attempted
V bootz: / level=full, 340 MB 00:08:37 2214 files
V bootz: /tmp level=full, 2 KB 00:07:35 2 files
* bootz:/nsr 1 retry attempted
V bootz: /nsr level=full, 26 MB 00:06:35 321 files
The strange thing is that bootz IS our Networker server! Stan and I do
not understand how the server cannot reach the client, when they are the
same machine. I reran the backup half an hour after receiving the
notification, and it worked:
* bootz:/usr save: Warning - `/usr/var/adm/syslog/auth.log' size grew
during save
* bootz:/usr save: Expected 71206785 bytes for
`/usr/var/adm/syslog/auth.log', got 71207050 bytes
V bootz: /usr level=full, 2974 MB 00:21:58 40787 files
The cpu load on the system was not too high, or we would have been
notified about that by BigBrother software. Any thoughts anyone?
