Hello. THank you for the help several people have offered so far. You might
recall I was having a problem where ~3 large filesystems won't backup because
they are behind newly installed SonicWALL firewalls and they appear to be timing
out before finishing. The error message was "Client inactive for 35 minutes
since..." and the backup was aborted. (Note: all such inactive clients timed out
after exactly 35 minutes.)

This has had several consequences for me -- I can't seem to get a clean backup
of these filesystems, and because they abort, and I have retry set to 3 times,
they each abort and restart 3 times, thereby taking up a ton of backup space
in my 1.5TB treefrog AIT-1 jukeboxes.

I've followed the suggestions of several people here, I've set the timeouts
high on legato (720 minutes) and the retries to 1 (for now), and on the
firewalls I've set the network access timeouts on the Legato access rules
to 999 minutes, fragmented packets allowed, etc.

Here's my follow up question:

The three filesystems that are giving me the most trouble seem to finish backing
up normally (the admin gui reports "done saving to pool..." for each of them. In
fact, the entire group has completed. But the group still shows as running
(clock symbol) and in the group's details, those three filesystems are showing
as Incomplete.

Does anyone know what could be preventing those filesystems, once they have
finished backing up, from moving from Incomplete to Successful and letting the
backup group finish completely?

Example:

(From the details log)

Incomplete savesets
violin:/home
violin index
banjo:/home
banjo index
mystic:/home
mystic index

(From the monitor window)

(Notes -- There are no full backups of the one machine because I haven't gotten
a clean image since the firewall was installed. Also, the indices never backup
due
to my problem with unknown error 193 (0xc1) )

Why would the backup on those three filesystems (banjo:/home, violin:/home,
mystic:/home) restart when done, instead of just saying group completed?
Particularly
when I have retries set to one? Or should I set them to 0? Any why would it
wait for
1 hour and 26 minutes to retry?

Looks like I had more questions than I expected. Thank you in advance for any
insight. -Gary
