We had the same kind of issues when the Networker client was not able to
reach the 'main' interface of the Networker server (the one with the same
name as the hostname), but only the dedicated interface we want to use.
It seems that the save, when intitiated from a Networker client, needs to
communicate with this 'main address' to check the client access rights on
the server, then the save stream uses the dedicated interface - unless the
save hangs waiting to communicate with the 'main address'. So one have to
check both interfaces.
