I used to have a script to do this. (I deleted it after it caused problems).
It worked by using nsrmm, or mminfo (I don't remember which) to unmount the
file device, mark it as "non-full" and then remount it.  If you use this
method but have it test for read only file devices before it attempted to
unmount, it would probably work.

You might check out my post (hard drive staging in Networker:(Version
2))that I just sent in a few minutes ago about how I am currently using file
devices.

I have some "file" devices that fill up occasionally.  I've got scripts
that will clean them up as needed, by date, etc.  The problem is legato
has marked them Read only because they filled up.  Is there a way from
a command line, non-interactive, to tell legato a device shouldn't be
Read only?  Is there an interactive CLI method anyone knows of?
