Re: [Networker] Scanning tapes on a Remote Storage Node...

I answered my own question. I had (foolishly) forgotten to put the -s
backupserver option in the command:
scanner -i -fx -rx -s backup_server -S xxxxxxxxx rd=storage_node:\\.\Tape0
Sorry for the foolish question; dumb things happen when your in a hurry.
Thanks,
Phil M.

Subject: [Networker] Scanning tapes on a Remote Storage Node...
Hello,
I am trying to scan some tapes on a remote storage node and I keep getting the
error:
scanner: media database not responding; retrying ...
scanner: media database not responding; aborting
These were the scanner commands I was using:
scanner -i -fx -rx -S xxxxxxxx rd=storagenode:\\.\Tape0
and
scanner -i -fx -rx -S xxxxxxxx \\.\Tape0
I then tried to scan them from the server and got a media error (of course)
because it's looking in the tape drives that are attached to the server since
they both are named Tape0 (Except the storage node drives start with
rd:storage_node_name).
Client: Win2000 SP3 6.1.1 (remote storage node)
-2 drive SDLT 24 slots
-Tape0 & Tape1
Server: Winnt4.0 SP6a 6.1.1
-5 drive DLT 96 slots
-Tape0 thru Tape4
I thought you had to run the scanner command from the node attached to the
jukebox but it wasn't clear in the scanner docs. If anyone could shed some
light on this for me I would be very grateful!!
Thank you very much in advance.
