I can't get my cloning jobs to run reliably or correctly because I've
got a blocksize problem between my server and my storage node. Here's
the relevant info.

Configureation: Server & Storage Node w/ ADIC Scalar1000 (4 SDLT 220
drives)

Server Config:
Win2k SP3
Networker 6.2
Adaptec 29160 controller
2 of 4 SDLT 220 drives
Tape blocksize: 64KB

Storage Node Config:
RedHat 7.2
Networker 6.1.2
Adaptec 29160 controller
Tape blocksize: 128KB

Blocksize of tapes from my old DLT7000 stacker: 256KB

When cloning starts, the reading drive will disable once it uses a tape
that the storage node (128KB) wrote.

Is there a standard default block size for SDLT220?
Which blocksize should I be using, 64KB or 128KB?
I have tried following the procedure in the Knowledge Base for changing
tape blocksize on Win2k to make it 128KB across the board. The server
drives still report 64KB.

I have the latest and greatest SDLT drivers on the Win2k box.
Legato wants me to downgrade to SP2 at this point. Are there any
alternatives? I really can't downgrade, because I was never running SP2
in the first place.

I've checked the list archives, but all the reference docs are not
available.

Anyone?

Thanks,
Paul C.
