Hi there.
Is this information correct? Unless I'm reading this email differently, it
sounds as if you are saying that you need to run the jbconfig on the san
storage node, and not the networker server. I was under the impression that
you don't present the jukebox (changer) to any of the san storage nodes...just
the networker server, and merely present tape drives to each san storage node.
My understanding is that the networker server controls the robotic arm to pop
in tapes for the san storage nodes, as they need them.
Can someone please clarify this for me? We are working on troubleshooting an
EBS issue for a client, and with the information that Thierry just gave, this
throws a different perspective for me.
Thanks in advance,
Brian Plume

So, it's quite simple :
>From the system that will act as SN ...
1) load the Storage Node software (option
during setup.exe). Best is to run the same networker
version the backup server runs.
2) verify device assignment by running inquire command
from a cmd prompt.
3) launch "jbconfig -s <server>" from the storage Node
(in a cmd prompt).
Choose auto-detect jukebox,
fill Jukebox control path ([email protected])
for each tape drive, fill
the hostname of the controlling host
tape drive's driver path (\\.\tapex)
That's it.
Have fun,
thierry

A jukebox !!!!
Stephane,
SAN Storage node is just the same of a Storage Node, except that
it only accept backups from him-self.
What are you installing ... A jukebox or a tape drive ?
Thanks,
Thierry
