Hi,
Be sure about name resolution from both side and no
firewalls are located between your Tru64 and the W2K Server.
Another good try could be to fill hosts files from both sides
using FQDN and short names. What's result of ...
from server : rpcinfo -p <client>
from client : rpcinfo -p <server>
Try with FQDN, Short name and IP as Stan proposed you.
Have also a try to replace saveset=All but a list of FS
(/, /usr, /var, ...), I sometime saw the problem you
described when the hostname contained digits.
Another good troubleshooting step could be to launch
from the TRU64 Unix client
save -s <server> -l full -b <pool> /usr
to see if client initiated backups are working fine.
It could point you to DNS prob, what I think to be
the root cause of your problem.
Check also if the backup server is not DHCP enabled,
TRU64 unix not knowing anything about WINS.
There is also a patch that seems to match with your problem :
LGTpa44350 savegrp hangs on Windows NSR 6.1.x server for Tru64
6.1.2 client unix. You should contact Legato Support Folks for
getting more info and see if it matches with your case.
Hope that helps,
Thierry

In that event, consider the possibility of a network misconfiguration on
the Tru64 Unix client.
Can you "rpcinfo -p" the client from the server and the server from the
client?
On the client, there should also be two instances of the nsrexecd
process
running at all times so if that's not the case, you need to check the
logs
on the client to try to find out why.
