I seem to be having problems with my Networker system whenever a member of
the SAN is rebooted. My COnsiste of a Networker Server on W2K, A cluster
hosting Exchange 2000, and a TL895 with 7 DLT 7000 drives connected via an
MDR.

All Servers see all the tape drives. I am using autochanger sharing and
storage nodes to assign two drives to each cluster node and the other three
are on the backup server for network backups etc.

What happens is that anytime a member of the cluster is rebooted Networker
gets really confused. Tapes won't mount. Sometimes they do but never really
do. You can't unmount etc. Sometimes they demand to clean the drives.
Sometimes I get "No Media in Drive" errors. What fixes it is a reboot of the
Tape Library and the MDR. These errors all seem like what Legato says will
happen if you the tape drives logical names out of order. However if you try
to reorder them things work for a while and then get worse over time.

I think what is happening is that for some reason the tape drives are being
seen by W2K in a different order after the reboot.

Does this sound familiar to anybody. Anybody no a fix. I am starting to try
to wade through the MDR documentation but decided to check here first.

Thanks,
Brian
