[Networker] Expiration defuncts?
2002-11-18 09:15:19
Ok, after all that recovery the system has been running happily for a
couple weeks now. This morning I came in and found on the order of
14000 defunct processes. Most of them were nsrd. In my
/nsr/logs/daemon.log I have alot of:
11/18/02 08:51:59 nsrd: media info: Deleting 2816 KB from save set 3190515713
Looks like it's cleaning up expired backups. Not a problem, this is a
good thing. The problem is that very soon after I saw 13832 defunct
processes the server complained about a lack of memory and killed
networker. It started backup and looks stable right now.
Can the expirations be restarted? Are the defuncts normal for 6.1.2
build 340?
Any thoughts?
Robert
