Vic,
If a volume manager of some sort is involved (i.e. DiskSuite, VxVM),
any logical volumes which host all or part(s) of /nsr also need to be
somehow reinstated. It's easy to carry forward a simple logical volume
configuration from Solaris 2.6 to Solaris 8. With or without a volume
manager though, your plan should work. It's one I've used at least twice.
Naturally, YMMV and don't proceed without a current backup in any case.
