Hi Guys,
I have problems related to Mixed Drives and barcodes. I have a L40 tape
library with DLT, SDLT and LTO drives in it. whenever i try to do inventory
with all drives, i get "incompatible medium installed". i tried to overcome
this problem by using specific barcodes for differ media types like s1 for
SDLT and small "d" for DLT. but somehow it is still the same problem. any
suggestion related to these problem are welcome. few things which i really
wanted to know

1) where can i mention barcode rules in networker. like barcode ending with
s1 or s2 is for sdlt , ending with d for DLT and rest for LTO like that
2) how do i know what barcode format library support 6 character or 8
character . is there any thing on library which can be used to change
barcode setting ...this is very specific to L40 tape library.
3) what is the ideal way to use mixed drive in a tape library. do i really
need smartmedia or something like that for this.

Any suggestions are most welcome

Thanks
Vikas

Subject: [Networker] Accessing savesets from deleted clients

I'm pretty sure I've seen this discussed before, but I can't find
anything related in the archives.

I have an old client that I'd like to look at indexes for so that I can
determine data from that client is recoverable.

I have the old index zipped up.

How can I get the data I'm after?

I've tried just unzipping the index and creating a dummy client. The
index list says there's a 12MB index but no savesets listed.

I need to get this information to decide whether we spend $3000 on a
drive recovery or not.

Thanks,
Paul C.
