This is the theory, but sadly the reality is that this is not true. Only
certain brands of tape will work reliably with Seagate LTO drives. Seek out
a recommendation from Seagate's website or from your jukebox vendor, and
stick to it no matter what. I have seen serious reliability problems with
certain tape brands. The same tapes were OK with IBM drives, and yes I could
interchange data between the two makes of drive.
