I have a procedure to auto recycle tape volumes so that they can be reused
when they expire.

The recycle program does the following,
lists clone volumes over a set age using mminfo, write these to Offtemp
file
lists volumes over a set age using mminfo, write these to temp file
reads the offtemp file and for each clone volume to be recycled
list off the ssid
delete the clone using NSRMM -s xxx -d -S ssid / Clonid -y
( this delete is done to protect the original volumes ssids, we need to
recycle the clone volumes after 17 days, but need to keep the originals for
longer)
check the volume is empty
ensure it is not loaded
recycle using NSRMM -s xxxx -o "recyclable" -y volume

reads the temp file and for each clone volume to be recycled
ensure it is not loaded
recycle using NSRMM -s xxxx -o "recyclable" -y volume

then list off the currently recyclable volumes for each pool and email
results.

Hello list ,

Is it possible to make your clones recyclable and keep the originals
browsable ( according their policy ) ?

If I set clones recyclable with 'nsrmm -o recyclable -V volid' , the
originals also recieve a recyclable status. If I change them afterwards to
notrecyclable , the clones become again notrecyclable ...

Also did try : - manual originals
                   - recycle clones
               - notmanual originals

but this didn't the trick either.

Anybody an idea ?

Thx a lot
