Tim,
If the jukebox is not properly seen, then it's probably because
the /etc/ddr.dbase is not filled correctly with the entry for the L20
Jbox.
StorageTek should provide the exact entry to fill in.
Once the device will be detected correctly, the driver will be created.
In Tru64 V5.X, the mc changer is /dev/changer/mcx and is created
automatically.
MAKEDEV.MC or MAKEDEV refer to TRU64 V3.x and V4.X and is not needed
anymore in V5.X

Thierry

I haven't seen a response to this. Did you get it solved?
Since you're at 5.x, you have the media changer support built into the
OS.
Can you see the robot using
/usr/opt/networker/bin/inquire
? Does it show up as type "Autochanger", or something similar?
Is there a "DEFAULT" changer entry in /etc/ddr.dbase? Most changers
will
work relatively well using the default entry, though if you know lots
about the specifics of the L20 you could probably find something to
tweak
for a custom STK L20 entry.
Does it show up with any hardware ID when you use
hwmgr -scan scsi
hwmgr -show scsi
?
If you can see it with hwmgr and/or inquire, what happens if you use
MAKEDEV.MC or MAKEDEV to make a changer device with the appropriate
minor
for the bus/target/lun combination? Can you talk to the changer through
the device file that's created?
