 Hi!
There are more sides to this problem that's obvious at
first...

Scenario:
Server has a directory path 200 characters long:
E:\Directory_structure_191_Characters_Long\Share
(makes a total of 200 chars)

Then you share the directory "Share" and a client maps
a drive H: to that share.

The user at the client has a drive H:\, which is 3
chars long. On that drive the user can create a
directory structure or filename 252 chars long
(252+3=255). As an exampel the user creates a
structure 200 chars long. When you try to access this
path from the server
(E:\Directory_structure_191_Characters_Long\Share +
user path), you end up with a path 400 chars long. No
problems reading that from the mapped drive, but
Windows and, hence, the NetWorker client can only read
the first 255.

The problem you're discussing, restoring a file with a
path longer than 255 chars, isn't really a problem.
Why? You don't have a backup of the file in the first
place...

I really hope anyone can prove me wrong on this! :)
