Product: Legato Networker
server: SGI running IRIX 6.5.14f
          Networker 6.1.2.Build.340
2 storage nodes: Compaq servers, Windows Server 2000 SP2
         Networker 6.2

When I use the Windows GUI to manage my automounters, I can do a 'Reset'
on the automounter, and it will unload the drives and re-inventory it.
However, back in the 'Monitor' tab of the main GUI window, the device
status window still shows that tapes are mounted (whichever tapes were
in the drive before the reset). It also still shows the tape mounted if
I use the Unix command 'nsrwatch'.

I just tried to do a reset again using the GUI, and it comes back
immediately saying that the tape is writing, with the drive that it
reports as writing being the one shown in the 'Monitor' tab as being
loaded, even though the Automounter operations window (from which I
repeated the 'Reset') shows the drive as empty, and the automounter
definitely does not have a tape in the drive physically (I did look!)
This might be because of clones waiting to happen, I have a case open on
that*! In fact, I've been only doing automouter resets to see if they
help the problem, so I don't know if this problem occurs outside that
context. Killing the groups that are hung up waiting for clones did not
allow me to reset. I tried 'nsrjb -HE' at the Unix prompt and this
failed with the same error as the GUI.

[* I posted a question the other day about 'Clones hanging ...']
