The reason I thought it might need cleaned is I keep getting a read open
error, incorrect function error whenever I try to use one drive.  The other
drive is working correctly.  This non working drive was replaced yesterday
and did work for about half the backup process and stopped with the same
error.

Any ideas what is wrong?

I am sorry, I typed it wrong here.  I did use it correctly in Legato. I
finally for it to clean the drive by loading the cleaning tape in the drive
that needed cleaning.

That's probably because \\.\Tape0 is not the same as //./Tape0. Don't
forget the Windows world uses backslashes. And I think the T in tape might
be case sensitive. I always use an uppercase T to be on the safe side.
