Hi

I think this should work if:

Normally:
o Server A is the NetWorker, Server B is a storage node, and they are
configured to see only the new library, and jbconfig is run to support this.

Also:
o Server B has NetWorker server software installed, and jbconfig is executed
to configure just the old library. Note: the NetWorker server processes
would only be started when a restore of the old data needed to be done.

The same version of NetWorker software should be used throughout this
environment. Also, when a restore of old data needs to be done, before
NetWorker Server software is started on Server B, Server A's configuration
should be modified to disable Server B (so that Server A does not try to
communicate with nsrmmd processes on Server B).

So, you are not sharing any tape library between NetWorker servers; server A
is the only NetWorker server controlling the new library, and server B is
the only NetWorker server controlling the new library.

Does this help?

Thanks

Well, maybe I should explain further.

Ideally, I would prefer _both_ server A and server B to be Networker servers
_and_ storage nodes. server A will contain index to new backup jobs, while
server B will retain index to old backup jobs:

- server B: attached to old (SCSI) and new (SAN) libraries. (Originally)
networker server for the old library. Storage nodes for both old and new
libraries.

- server A: attached to new (SAN) library. Configured as networker server
and storage node for the new library.

In the above setup, (ideally) I can backup servers A and B to new library
using server A as a new Networker server. At the same time, I would like to
be able to restore old data to server B (hence the need for server B to
remain as a networker server).

The problem arises (the irritating messages appear) when server A was
configured as a networker server for the new library while server B was
still serving as a networker server for the old library (since you now have
2 networker servers in the above environment).

What I don't understand is why is it that this cannot be done as I am not
sharing any library here?

Sorry for the confusion.

Hwan Meng
