hello

for the first question: Networker would delete the index older than 30 days.
It´s no matter if a client is in a group or not.

for the second question: yeah they could. The index won´t be touched by
Legato if you delete the client. Just recreate and browse.

Betreff: [Networker] A couple of questions on indexes

Hello,

Two perhaps not so quick questions on indexes.

1. If you stop backing up a client, but you don't delete the client,
does the index remain valid? In other words, if you had say a one month
browse policy, and the client sat dormant for three months, could you
then come along and run nwrecover on the client and still browse the
index for what was in there as of the last time the client was backed
up? I want to say yes because if the client isn't getting backed up, the
index is not getting added to or truncated.

2. If you delete a client, but you don't remove the index on the server
(/nsr/index/client), then can you re-create the client and reuse the
same index? So, for example, if a month later someone wanted to be able
to run nwrecover and browse the old index, could they?

Thanks.
