That's one possibility. Basically it means that while reading the tape
Networker detected a different block size than it expected. How it got
that way in the first place I'm not sure of.

It means that restores will take a loooonng time. Networker normally
does positioning by block size iirc. In this situation it simple reads
through the tape until it finds what it needs and starts the restore.
