I guess I should have listed the obvious like mem and swap configs...


4 gig physical ram and 3 gig of swap.
16394 maximum number of processes.

When the error occurs I have checked swap and I am using less than 10%

Take a look at your maximum process size limit on the server.

You're running out of virtual memory on the box, likely because you don't
have enough physical RAM and/or enough swap space.

"Out of space" or "not enough space" are very typical UNIX messages that
mean "not enough virtual memory to do what I'm trying to do".
