Some guidance for your pursuit...
Management classes are bound to files, not drives, at backup time.
By default, TSM stores directories under the Management Class with the longest
Retonly retention,
See "Rebinding Files to Management Classes" in the Admin Guide manual to help
in assessing what management classes might be in play for active vs. inactive
files.
Presumably, 'ACTivate POlicyset' was run after the management class copy group
retention value changes.
