[ADSM-L] TSM 5.5.4.2 autoconf not working on Solaris 10 x64
2012-04-02 16:04:08
I recently upgraded a Solaris 10u9 x64 server from kernel
patchset level 144489-09 to 147441-09. During this process, the
subsequent reboot removed the /dev/rmt/*mt devices definitions
for our T10000B tape drives, and
/opt/tivoli/tsm/devices/bin/autoconf is unable to recreate them.
The script runs but doesn't create the definitions.
Reverting back to the older patchset fixes the issue. It appears
something has changed that causes the Solaris add_drv binary
(called from within TSM's autoconf script) to do nothing when
dealing with TSM tape devices.
Has anyone else run into this issue? If so, what workaround did
you implement to get your tape devices defined again once going
to newer Solaris patchsets?
Thank you.
