I used the following command

GENERATE BACKUPSET govsrv3X1 Beverlysapton3X1BKUP 1 devclass=lto3class 
scratch=yes retention=nolimit nametype=FSID  (SESSION:

I did find several messages like this below (none had the session/process 
number  of the backup set

01/18/12   10:10:18      ANR1401W Mount request denied for volume B00013L3 - 
mountfailed. (SESSION: 1303875, PROCESS: 39924)


However we restarted the backup set again using the following command (it 
worked successfully)

generate backupset govsrv3x1 Beverlysapton3X1BKUP  devclass=lto3class 
scratch=yes retention=nolimit

(notice we left off the >>nametype=FSID

Thanks Jim,

We won't be using a TOC for these however shouldn't a generate backup
command work.
