I assume there's no cad running.
This would almost point to a problem in the networking stack.
You might try upgrading the client to 6.2, just to eliminate some issue
with the version, if there is one.
Have you looked at the errors reported by the nic(s)? And, is anything
else having problems with long term communication, (such as a large
(s)ftp job, or file copy across nfs)?
