[ADSM-L] changing the library of a device class from SCSI to manual
2011-11-01 12:42:09
Hi,
There is a library with Fibre Channel LTO4 drives defined into a 6.2.1 TSM
server in AIX 6.1. The library has failed and a there is no standby library
over there at least for a couple of days, or probably weeks. In this
situation the client needs to restore some data from the cartridges. Is it
possible to define a new "manual" library with a SAS LTO4 drive and assign
the library to the devclass of the storage pool that owns the data
cartridges?
define library newlibrary
define drive newdrive
define path
update devclass thedevclass library=newlibrary
When I do this, the device type of the drive gets the value of
"GENERICTAPE" instead of LTO which causes this error when restoring
something: ANR0567W
The drive and its path (/dev/rmt2) are online.
Thank you,
Mehdi
