When do you get the problem and what OS are you running?
I sow on a Windows system where I needed to delete the installation software 
directory between each upgrade step.

Iam getting the following error when I trying to upgrade my existing TSM
5.5.2 to TSM6.1



ACUINI0029E The install version, $(acu.compatibleVersions), is not valid.

Failed to initialize DE Engine
