I'm persistently getting a "Return code 653 unknown" error when running backups.

Can anybody tell me what this means?

As far as I can tell the backup is actually succeeding - But I assume something 
is awry...

An "Unknown system error" message is reported (in "dsmsched.log") immediately 
after the backup summary information. There are no error messages either here 
or in "dsmerror.log" before this point in the backup...
