After standing up a new guest from the same VM template and having no
issues with the TSM client install I had a discussion with the server
owner I found that this particular server gave her the same issues when
she installed her application (PeopleSoft). Obviously it's an operating
system issue so I have sent it back to the server team to either solve
the issue or rebuild it.

Andy,
 Same results. But it appears that I am using a different site for my
client updates:
ftp://service.software.ibm.com/storage/tivoli-storage-management/patches
/client/v5r5/Windows/x64/v552 

Downloaded the client directly to the host, expanded the package, and
installed.
Files in same sysWOW64 location and same error messages.

I am now standing up a new VM guest from the same template to see if it
also incurs the issue.

In addition to my other post that suggests doing a fresh install from a
newly downloaded install image.... Can you help me understand exactly
what
this is?

After you enter that, what happens? This looks like it would open up a
window displaying the contents of that shared directory. Is that the
directory that contains setup.exe and the installer .msi file? Or do you
have to navigate to some other directory? How exactly is the installer
launched (are you running a .bat or .cmd file, or are you
double-clicking
"setup.exe", or double-clicking the .msi file?

The install location should not matter; I only asked if dsmc.exe winds
up
in the "C:\Program Files" or "C:\Program Files (x86)" directory to see
if
the entire install process thinks it is installing a 32-bit image.
