the database backup needs the following configuration:

environment variables:

        DSMI_CONFIG=/export/home/dummy/tsmdbmgr.opt
        DSMI_LOG=/export/home/dummy
        DSMI_DIR=/opt/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin64


more ./tsmdbmgr.opt

        SERVERNAME TSMDBMGR_DUMMY


server stanza in dsm.sys:

        SErvername TSMDBMGR_DUMMY
        COMMmethod         TCPip
        TCPServeraddress   localhost
        TCPPort            <TCPPort>
        passwordaccess     generate
        passworddir        /export/home/dummy/dummy
        errorlogname       /export/home/dummy/dummy/tsmdbmgr.log
        nodename           $$_TSMDBMGR_$$

After upgrading to V 6.2.2, I got the same error message.
