Please check the image backup.
The problem with that that you can't restore single files from image backup.

How many millions of files? A worst case would be 2000 bytes/file in the
DB when you upgrade to 6.2, which isn't so bad. For reference, we're
tracking around 280 million files in our TSM 6.1 server and it's only
~360GB.
